Monks in Burma

Cords of wood piled by the thousands
Bleed the blood of monks
Discarded as though they were the
Carcasses of animals.
The loss of life, points of consciousness,
means the loss of neighbors
to love and honor as we are commanded.
Cords of bleeding wood piled high by the thousands
burn in the fire of tyranny.
