When you say, <BR/><BR/>"Do we kid ourselves otherwise? Thinking that the goal of drawing our children and families into Christian service is that they will enjoy it. That they find “fulfillment.” It becomes another drug, another Baal of choice, that widens the gulf between “us” and “them;” between ourselves and our neighbor.",<BR/><BR/>I think most folks do think that we give to get something out of it, it will be enjoyable or that it will make us feel "better", when really giving is the spawn of empathy (and perhaps sympathy in certain situations)therefore there is nothing to "get" from giving. I will say it again, we give because we have been so very blessed and wish for others blessings of the same in their own lives.
